What's New @MizzouGeog? 2.10.20
Good Monday morning, everyone! Here’s what’s new @MizzouGeog this week.
- The Raisz map of physiographic landforms is now in augmented reality! Take your phone to the map, which is located on the second floor of Stewart Hall opposite the bathrooms, and follow the instructions on the wall to see the biomes of North America in augmented reality! You will need to download the app first.
- Android users can download the app directly from Box: https://missouri.box.com/s/tug6inpu0vkec9rykhv2jm2lqbssoh9a
- Apple iPhone users will need to download the TestFlight app as well as the Raisz Terrain app, both available here: https://testflight.apple.com/join/Y5kovMAg
Have fun exploring the map! Over the course of the spring semester, we will be augmenting other maps as well. Special thanks to Samuel Frimpong and Dr. Danielle Oprean for developing this app for us!
- Please join us for the first Geography Club/GTU meeting of 2020—Thursday the 13th at 5 pm in the Geography classroom (Stewart 216). Snacks are on the menu! As is volunteering for the upcoming Geography Bee in March and field trip planning for the spring!
- Are you interested in an internship? Dr. Matt Foulkes is growing the opportunities available in our internships program this semester. You can receive credit for your work through Applied Geography and Cartography (GEOG 4945), and we have dedicated space for interns now in room 211. If you are interested in an internship, please talk to Dr. Foulkes!
Hope you all have a great week! Make sure to bundle up this Thursday – the low will be 8 degrees!
