Winners of Geography Pumpkin-Carving Contest Announced

Fran Rodriquez-Hart took first place

We had nearly 10 entries into the first-ever Geography Pumpkin-Carving Contest. All were fantastic, and three winners have been selected. The images were gathered together and sent unidentified to our three judges: Andy Emerson, senior business support specialist; Soren Larsen, department professor and chair; and Abby Hunt, geography student ambassador.

Morgan Hurt took second place

“It was tough to choose,” said Emerson.

Here is the outcome:

First Place: Fran Rodriquez-Hart

Second Place: Morgan Hurt

Third Place: Seth Kannarr

Seth Kannarr took third place

The top winner received a prize, and top three winners’ images will appear in the Meridian newsletter, on Facebook and on our website. Kadie Clark took honorable mention. Thanks to all for entering!
