Two undergrads selected for first-ever Jesse H. Wheeler Student Ambassador Program
The Department of Geography is awarding up to $500 a semester each to two qualifying undergraduate students selected for the Jesse H. Wheeler Student Ambassador Program. The first two selected to the program are Abby Hunt and Carson Stone, for the Spring 2020 semester.
Soren Larsen, department chair, congratulated them both in mid-February stating they will make an excellent team. “It is wonderful to have them on board, helping to promote MU geography to the campus and beyond,” Larsen says. “We are lucky to find students such as Abby and Carson to call on for important roles like this.”
Stone is enthusiastic about the program. “My goal would be to get as many people involved in geography as I can,” he says. “I haven’t been in the department very long, but have been treated very well by everyone in it. I really found my home in this department and want to help others find their place, like that. Let other people know about geography – as many as possible. I’m just super happy to be here.”
