What's New @MizzouGeog? 2.24.20

Welcome back to another week of class on this rainy Monday morning! Here’s what’s going on @MizzouGeog this week.

  • All are invited to come to the Spring 2020 GTU/Geography Club Snack Night at Casa de Hurt this Friday from 6-9pm. Directions to the Casa will be provided in a follow up email.
  • And if you’re looking for something to do before heading over to snack night at Casa de Hurt’s, come see the first set of Flyover Country this Friday at 5pm. Most of you that know this is the band I play in. This is an all-ages show and admission is free.
  • In an effort to clean out his office—which currently looks like something straight out of a scene in A Night At the Museum--our very own Dr. Joe Hobbs is getting rid of many of his books, and there are some gems in this collection! The books will be moved to the Graduate Teaching Assistant Offices in Room 233, where it will be first-come, first-served to go through the books. Those books that do not find takers will be sent to Vietnam where they will be put to good use in schools and libraries there. Thank you, Joe!

And don’t let Leap Day trip you up this Saturday! A whole “extra” day in 2020! Here’s something to ponder as you go about your day: which countries around the world do not observe leap day?
